As pointed out by one of the lab students at work Chris on his blog entry I apparently work on the side for Nintendo which made me laugh! I must admit is does look like me!

If you are feeling bored and wanted to create a life somewhere then have a look at Technosphere. Looks like the original creators have brought it back to life again……..I wonder how long my new creature will last?

TechnoSphere is a 3D model world inhabited by artificial lifeforms created by WWW users. There are thousands of creatures in the world all competing to survive. They eat, fight, mate and create offspring which evolve and adapt to their environment. When you make a creature it will email you to let you know what it has been getting up to in its world. Using the creature tools you can find out how your creature is surviving, what it is doing at any time, and where it is in the terrain.

I was listening to Radio 4 last week and was intrigued by the discussion on the Payphone Project. The original intention of the Payphone Project was to promote random contacts among complete strangers but as Mark Thomas says on the Payphone Project FAQ not all phones accept incoming calls.

Still it was amusing to hear the radio host phone up random phone boxes in London and talk to who ever answered. Some people seemed happy to talk to complete strangers and other were a little reluctant at first but soon warmed up to the presenter once they worked out that he wasn’t weird. People I’ve talked to at work say this seems a little weird phoning up and talking to complete strangers but we seem to do it quite a lot anyway but under the disguise of the internet. Go on find a number on the website and phone some complete stranger up and talk……….as BT said it’s good to talk (but then again they make money out of it!)

The problem with working nights sometimes is that you do get set a challange! All you need for this is a Gingerbread man cake kit from Sainsburys and an imagination…..or in our case none. The continuing adventures of Ginger and is companion can be found here. enjoy!
