Still I’m not expecting to turn into a proper drumming for several years but can at least bash something out. I’ve kinda always had an interest in playing the drums but never took it anywhere until now. Got a Yamaha DTExpress secondhand off John the old drummer from the last band and have been bashing away.

I’ve just recently upgraded the snare to a mesh type from the nice chaps at ADC drums who where very helpful. They even got the maker of the snare Colin Koby to phone me up as I had problems setting it up. Unfortunately the drum was faulty but they soon sorted that out in a couple of days….. thanks chaps.

Going back to this evening, drumming for 3 hours has taken it out of me but it’s good exercise. Just need to keep practicing and learning so I can get to a reasonably standard to gig with later in the year…… :)

It’s been fun whilst it’s lasted but a shame that we didn’t get a chance to gig. Kev managed to plug us all into his portable recording studio and the mp3′s from this escapade can be found here.

Good luck to the rest of the guys in whatever they do next. Perhaps we’re see each other in other musical adventures….

Ah, we rocked on last night adding another couple of numbers to our ever growing covers set. Half way through the practice we had a couple of visitors to watch us perform in the face of Matt and Phoebe who were gently surprised at us. I guess all Phoebe has seen is me practicing so it was nice to finally see some work put to use! :) I guess we need to find a good place to gig now…..mmmm, I wonder where that’s gonna be! Kev managed to record the set so for your viewing pleasure you can grab them from here along with some divx recordings from Matt’s camera.

We ‘re gonna start recording more stuff as it gives us an idea on how we’re coming on. For this recording we’re covering a track by the Verve called Lucky Man. With the band now complete we can move forward and get our set together. We’re hoping to put the work in and get gigging before the beginning of the summer but time will tell! Just need to come up with a band name now……which might take a while!

Yep, I’ve been working nights at work and have just finished another exciting 7 days on shift. Still it’s Band Practice night tonight which I am looking forward to. Since Chris left we were looking for another bass player which the position has now been filled by Alex one of my oldest friends (no he’s not old ok!….you know what I mean) which is go but we still don’t have a full time vocalist yet. However, all is not lost as I got thrown at the musofinder website and we have a potential candidate which we’re hoping to audition soon. Still we’ve got some work to do in the meantime in tightening our current set list up. Anyway he’s what we’re gonna get sorted for the tick in the box before adding the others to the list:

We’ve had some fun making music together but traveling has finally got the best of him. However songs were recorded at the last practice which are available here for anyone who would like there ears demolished…… I’ve also decided to stick with the guitar and hand over singing to a dedicated singer. So, that means we’ve got to find a singer and bass player. Thanks to Kev there’s an advert in Loot….watch this space.
