At it again……

…..ok so my liver has had a chance to recover before I polute it further with this weekends activity. Well at least I was kinda good friday night with a visit to Craggy Island to climb instead of drinking! Well after a late start of picking Rup and Spenny up we managed to make it to Putney where we were all staying.

Managed to grab a quick pint and a laugh at Gary wearing his Captain Caveman outfit although I think Cavey had more hair……but saying that…… Several buses and cabs later we made it to Westborn Studios for some painting. Yep, sorta different to the usual stag group thins but well worth it. Pictures will be available once someone has made them public! After art extrondiaire and lots of wine, another cab journey took us to the Jazz Cafe in Camden where tables were booked for the entire party. Lucky for us there was a Hen party next to us so the conversation soon went on! Perhaps too much with some people! :)

Beer, food and some really good Jazz left us feeling like further adventures, so we left and headed over to Leister Square to the Zoo Bar. Lucky for us (inside knowledge) we got in for free into a sea of people…….I guess it’s popular (so were the girls dancing on the bar). Hours of further drinking, dancing and talking loudly above the sound system left us drained (or perhaps it was the fact it had gone 0300!), so we all headed back to the hotel via various taxis…..to a much needed sleep…..which was to be a short one!

Up at 10 and straight for the cafe for the much needed cooked breakfast! Ahhh, kinda helped the hangover…….. I left early and headed over to the P’s for some food but Gary and Co headed over to the Love Party in another London location for the “Hair of the Dog”………

Just need to prepare myself for the Wedding next weekend………..

Ahh, it’s good seeing old mates again as it brings back all the memories of youth….not that I’m that old yet…..although! Nah…… Had to pay a visit to Londenium for a site visit in Canery Warf and thought it would be good to catch up with an old mate who also works there. Mr B was his usual self and the beers kept flowing with me trying to get used to the city “Suited and Booted” environment. Still we’ve both agreed that all three of the “Three Sputems” (Dave, Alex and myself) need to arrange for a drinking exhersion for old times sake.Just need to arrange a date now which means finding a gap in my diary…….mmmmmm, gonna be a bit tied up for a couple of weeks with Weddings and Stag do’s to attend, plus my permanent quest of for the “right” girl……( now do they exist? If they do then answers on a post card!)……

Looks like you need to specify noconn on the command line when mounting NFS shares off servers with more than one address:

noconn -> do not use a connect call to mount from the server. This is necessary for NFS servers with multiple IP addresses or servers not listening to the standard NFS port 2049

mount -o noconn fenella:/export/calls /mnt

Hanging around

Most amusing weekend, spend it down in sunny Bournmouth for Adrians stag do. It started out with an interesting walk down the beach with the stag wearing a very fetching number. Seemed to get the ladies attention though, perhaps a new way to pull…. lol. Several beers, interesting looks, playing the guitar on the beach we headed off back into town for a curry. Perhaps not the best thing to do before going out afterwards for further beers….I’m sure I could smell the curry haze all around us! A visit to plently of bars with the intermix with hen parties proved life’s still out there. A select few found a late night bar/pub and danced all night. The next day was painful, with myself being the major casualty of then evening. I’m sure the older I get the worse my handovers get.Still 3 hours climbing in trees and death slides soon cured that. It was arranged for us to visit Go Ape and trust me it was the pinicle of the weekend. They have another in Bracknell which I think should be paid a visit for further monkeying around………..now I’ve got a week to recover before the next stag weekend………body on standby…….

Pictures from the events are available here via Adrian’s website and the Best man’s site here

Ah, finally started playing around with recording again, It’s about time and a long time coming. The first track is a re-recording of serendipity which I wrote many years ago. It reminds me of my Nan the Rice Pudding expert (well she was only called that because o the accident with the pressure cooker and rice pudding creation!) who I dedicated the song to. I’m sure she would have liked it :) This time it’s a direct recording onto the mac using Logic. I’m gonna probably going to record it again as this is only a rough test track but it’s got the basic idea. Hopefully I’ll get my bass back again soon so I can add some mellow bass undertones. The second track is entitled playing as I only playing with a test drum track! Again need to add some funky bass to really groove it up. Stay tuned as I’ve plenty more ideas…….perhaps I should also go into the ear plug market! :) You can listen to Serendipity below:
