Stormsail

Woke up with a hangover. Debs was actually nice to me, which is surprising as she never usually gives sympathy. Anyway laid around moaning and eventually got up visited the look and had a cold shower which woke me up. I managed to eat a small amount of breakfast and w while later we all walked to the monkey forest. the monkeys were not bothered about us looking at them and they were having a fun time playing and jumping around. We lost Giles whilst walking up to the restaurant. We had some lunch and the view over the rice paddies was excellent. From here we walked back to our guest house via some art and craft shops. I had a two hour nap and was awoken by Debs as we were going to the Kechek dance. We were picked up and taken to the village of Bono. The dance was excellent especially when they set fire to some coconut shells and a dancer kicked all the embers around. We got a minibus back and met Giles who missed us. Cause he had hired a motorbike and had gone adventuring. We ate in a small restaurant near to our guest house and the food was good. We then walked back and relaxed went to bed early…..Smiley face Whoops

Woke up feeling a bit tired had a shower and decided to go for breakfast. Called on Charlotte and went up the road. A short while later Giles turned up. After everybody had finished we headed back to pack. We left and sat back in the restaurant. We played scrabble whilst we waited for the bus that we brought tickets for. the bus journey to Ubud did not take long. When we got there we were plagued by touts offering places to stay. Charlotte picked one an we headed off. After relaxing for the afternoon. Debs went off for a walk and I had a lie down. Met another bloke called Paul. We all went out to dinner at some doggy restaurant. After that I managed to get through to the Ps and got some gossip about people back at home. After that we all walked back to our rooms. Giles and I drank some more beer and we sat around talking out on our patio thingy. Giles and I were up for hours talking and drinking. I staggered to bed about 2am……Sad face

Debs was ready to go but everybody else was not. So we stayed in bed until 10.30am and then Debs and I packed and paid for the rooms. When Giles and Charlotte were finally ready we left to catch a public bemo firstly to Denpasser and then secondly to Sanui. When we arrived we stopped for a snack and a tout lead us to some very nice rooms which we got for 15000rupeah (about a fiver) We dumped our stuff and went walk about. We managed to change our flights until August 6th at the Hotel Bali Beach. We walked through the hotel again to the beach. We walked for a few minutes until we cut down a side road to the major town road. We watched some sort of procession which was quite interesting. After that we walked around examining menus and then stopped for happy hour for a beer. We moved on to another restaurant for dinner which was good. We then walked back to our rooms for the use of something called a real bath (the water was slightly cool) before going to sleep in a quieter place than Kuta.

Was awoken from my sleep by some stupid foreign girls who eventually shut up by about 6am. After that I went back to sleep and was awoken later by Debs knocking on the door and she snoozed with me. We then got up and went to have breakfast. Charlotte joined us. After which we got ready to hit the beach for another day of sun and sand. We got a sun shade and relaxed for the afternoon. About 5ish we headed back to our rooms and then Charlotte and I headed for a brief visit into town and I brought a Balinese tape which is well mellow. Charlotte had to dash back due to a visit to the toilet and I ambled back via changing a travellers cheque. On returning Debs and Charlotte were feeling tummy upsets. I then went and had dinner on my own. I returned and Debs, and Charlotte went to meet Giles at the airport and left me on my own again. I played my guitar for a few hours and attempted to write a letter to Lucy.

Woke up about 6ish with a headache. Oh well serves me right. Popped a panadol and some water and went back to sleep for a while. A while later Debs banged on the door again and I got up. She then continued plaiting my hair. She finished about l.3opm (lunchtime) and by now we were all hungry so we went to the special deal pizza place. After feeling better for food inside we returned and prepared to hit the beach for the afternoon. This meant slapping lots of high factor sunscreen on Charlotte and me due to the fact we had got burnt the day before (me and my dark tanning cream oil) After a swim and a few plays on the game boy it was sunset again. We returned back to our rooms and I had a shower and got ready to go out. We went to the pizza place for drinks and then moved next door to the mellow restaurant/bar for dinner. After nearly falling asleep we returned back to our rooms and to bed early.
